Judy Gail Kelley ParkerMrs. Judy Gail Kelley Parker, age 71, wife of Bobby Wayne Parker, and a resident of Columbia, passed away Friday, September 2, 2022, at Maury Regional Medical Center.

 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 4, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Parkway Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Heritage Funeral Home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

 

A native of Maury County, Judy was born on November 12, 1950, and was the daughter of the late Homer Dee and Dolly Jane Kelley. She met Bobby Wayne Parker at the young age of nine, and they were together for many years before marrying on April 4, 1970. Judy was a 1969 graduate of Spring Hill High School, and immediately out of high school, began her career in childcare at Rainbow World in Franklin where she worked for many years. After moving back to Columbia in 1996, she worked for Hospi-Tots Child Development for many years and several other childcare facilities before retiring in 2014. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church where she was involved in the Joy Class. Judy loved shopping, going on girls’ lunch dates, and pampering herself with manicures, pedicures, and hair appointments. She enjoyed attending activities at the Maury County Senior Citizen Center and going on trips to the beach and mountains. Above all, she loved her family, the Lord, and her church unconditionally. Judy was a special, giving, and loving person who will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

 

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Victoria (Devin) Messick of Manchester, TN, son, Vaden (Kayla) Parker of Bon Aqua, TN, and six grandchildren, Parker Leigh Chambers, Kaycee Messick, Bo Nunley, Taylor McClure, Joseph Damesworth, and Ruby Damesworth.

 

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant sister, Nancy Lynn Kelley, and beloved fur dog, Harley.

 

Pallbearers will be Michael Beard, Davy Parker, Devin Messick, David Parker, Joe Stepp, Bo Nunley, and Keith Baker. Honorary pallbearers will include the members of the Joy Class at Parkway Baptist Church.
