Judy Gail Hyde Ellis, 69, of Jasper went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at her residence.
Judy grew up in the small community of Providence where she resided the majority of her life. She is a 1969 graduate of Parrish High School. For over 40 years, Judy worked as a secretary and bookkeeper for various businesses in Walker County including Birmingham Bolt, Marshall Durbin, and the Boshell Clinic. She was also a small business owner for many years at Ellis Minerals LLC and Ellis Auto Center. She was recently retired and enjoyed spending her time with her family and granddaughters.
She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Donald Wayne Ellis of Oakman; daughter, Wendy Gail Ellis; son, Kevin Wayne Ellis; grandson, Tyler Eugene Pennington; her parents, Clifton and Jessie Mae Hyde of Parrish; Mother-in-law, Margret Dozier of Jasper; brothers-in-law, Dr. Ed Abernathy and Jerry Dozier both of Jasper.
She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Ellis Pennington (Nathan) of Jasper; granddaughters, Emily and Brooklyn Pennington; sisters, Shirley Madison (Ray), Debra Sprouse (Rick), Doris Franklin, Cathy Abernathy (Special Friend Marion Combs). Sisters-in-love, Joyce Freeman (Leo) and Sheila Hollis (Larry) both of Quinton; father-in-law, Bill Ellis of Townley; She was also well loved by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Providence Baptist Cemetery. Rev. Dustin Murray will officiate.
