Judy Elaine Richey

Judy Elaine Richey, 72, met her Creator on Monday morning, Sept. 19, 2022 from North Miss. Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.   Judy was born on May 2, 1050 to the late Sidney Richey and Frances Spees Richey.  She grew up in Tupelo, graduated from Tupelo High School in l969 and joined the U. S. Army where she spent the next 13 years before being honorably discharged.  Judy spent the next 30 years in California where she worked as a civil servant for the U. S. Government.  In 2009, she returned to Tupelo.  A Baptist, she enjoyed being back home, driving around town and eating out often.

A service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, September 20, 2022 from the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Bro. Rickey Young officiating.  Private burial will follow in the Richey family plot at Tupelo Memorial Park on Joyner.  Visitation will be from 9 AM-service time on Wednesday only, at the funeral home.  For those unable to attend, the service may be viewed at 11 AM Wed. at www.hollandfuneraldirectors.com/Livestreaming

Judy is survived by her brother, Phil Richey and his wife, Iris of Tupelo; 1 aunt, Margie Potts of Knoxville, Tn. and several cousins.
