Mr. Judson Hawthorne died Nov. 7, 2017 at the age of 91. He was born Aug. 30, 1926, in Camden, Alabama to A. J. Hawthorne and Annie Jones Hawthorne. After serving in the Army Air Corp. during World War II, he graduated from Alabama Polytechnic (Auburn University) and retired from 3M. Mr. Hawthorne was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Geneva Day Hawthorne; daughter, Elaine Hawthorne, both of Decatur; son, Robert Judson Hawthorne and wife, Renata Sztyrbicka Hawthorne, of Crane Hill, Alabama; and four granddaughters, Laura Krassowski and husband Josh Spencer, of New York, New York, Kate Krassowski, of Los Angeles, California, Natalia Hawthorne, of Birmingham, Alabama, and Kristin Hawthorne, of Crane Hill, Alabama.
A service to the resurrection for Judson will take place on Saturday, March 31st at noon at the Westminister Presbyterian Church, 801 Jackson St., SE, Decatur, AL 35601. Visitation will be held in the sanctuary beginning at 10:30 a.m.
