Juanita “Nita” Canady Rush

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita “Nita” Canady Rush, age 91, of Cragford, will be held Thursday September 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at County Line Baptist Church with Reverends Scott Jordan and Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Clay County Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Rush passed away Sunday September 1, 2019 at the Clay County Hospital. She was a native and lifelong resident of Clay County; a graduate of Mellow Valley High School, had worked for several years as a teacher’s aide with the Clay County School systems, but primarily was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She love cooking, canning, working in her garden and flower beds, was active in her church and community, and a member of County Line Baptist Church.

She is survived by six sons; Dr. Dwain Rush (Anna Marie) of Lineville, Dale Rush (Delores) of Lineville, David Rush (Clara) of Cragford, Dr. Danny Rush of Wetumpka, Derwin Rush (Kerry) of Montevallo, and Dru Rush (Connie) of Brewton, 26 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Henry Grady Canady and Rena Ethel Miller Canady; her husband of 63 years, William Fred Rush; and one sister, LaRue Amason.

Pallbearers will be her son’s and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at County Line Baptist Church (233 County Line Rd. Cragford, AL 36255) Wednesday from 5:30 to 8:00 PM and until service time at Benefield Funeral Home in Lineville.

Floral offerings will be accepted however, the family prefers that memorial contributions be made to the County Line Baptist Church Building Fund.
