JT Masterson age 90, of Hatton, left this world on October 8, 2023, to enter his heavenly home. His funeral will be a graveside service at Masterson Cemetery at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, with Ben Phillips officiating. Williams Funeral Home is assisting the family.
JT was born on April 10, 1933, in Lawrence County, Alabama. He was the only child of Woodrow and Alma Haley Masterson. JT married his high school sweetheart, Peggy White Masterson, on November 24, 1951, and they enjoyed nearly seventy years of marriage together. JT retired from Monsanto. JT loved growing a large garden to share with family and friends and going rabbit hunting with his cousins. He was a good man and a loving husband and father.
He is survived by three daughters, Jan Masterson, Joan Jeffreys (Brett) and Joy Newton (Tony); two loving grandchildren, Gabriell Jeffreys and Jake Newton; one sister-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews; several cousins; and many dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of nearly seventy years, as well as his parents.
The family would like to thank Dr. Lyman Mitchell, Dr. John T. Baron, Dr. Dwight M. Matthew, North Alabama Medical Center nurses, Aveanna Hospice, Liz Stewart, and Hatton Church of Christ for their love and support of our family.
