Funeral services for Mr. JP “Pete” Clenney, age 86, are scheduled for 3 PM on Tuesday July 8, 2014 at Sinner’s Hope Church in Milledgeville, TN with Bro. Milton Huggins and Bro. Lloyd Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Mr. Pete passed away on Sunday July 6, 2014 in Decaturville, TN. He was born July 15, 1927 in Decatur County, TN to the late Joseph Laurel and Jettie Rushing Clenney. He was a retired farmer and member of Sinner’s Hope Church. He enjoyed playing dominos and cards, but most of he enjoyed playing his guitar. Mr. Clenney was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo and Franklin Clenney, two sisters, Dorothy Clenney and Romar Rushing, grandchild, Kevin Clenney, and great grandchild, Kyle Carter. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Mrs. Oneida Ellis Clenney, son Ricky Clenney (Barbara) of Reagan,TN, daughter, Jettie (Jerry) Huff of Union City, TN, brother, Thomas Clenney of Polway, CA. Survivors also include 5 grandchildren, Brian Clenney, Lauren Huff, Teresa Westmoreland, Stacy Bridges and Shawn Bridges, great grandson, Blake Westmoreland and an additional 8 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
