The funeral service for Joyce M. Stutts, age 72, of Decatur and Rogersville, will be 1 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 at Springfield CP Church in Rogersville, Ala. with Rev. Kenny Morgan officiating and Shelton Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Springfield Church prior to the service. Interment will be in the Springfield Cemetery.

Mrs. Stutts died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012. She was born April 5, 1940 in Anderson, Ala. to William Middlebrooks and Roxie Word Middlebrooks.

She is survived by her loving husband, James F. Stutts of Decatur; two sons, James F. Stutts, Jr. (Kathy) of Athens, and Joel A. Stutts of Decatur; two daughters, Jennifer S. Barnett (Kenneth) and Julie Stutts, both of Decatur; two brothers, Bryce Middlebrooks of Jackson, Tenn., and Royce Middlebrooks of Guntersville, Ala.; seven grandchildren, Blake Barnett, Brittany McComb, James Stutts, John Stutts, Kaitlin Stutts, Lindsey Stutts and Cameron Stutts; and two great-grandchildren, Rhoda Lee McComb and Vander Fox McComb. She was loved by family and friends, and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

The family would like to express their most sincere thanks and gratitude for all the love, prayers and kindness shown to her an her family during this time and through her lifetime. They would also like to offer a special thanks to Hospice of North Alabama staff for their genuine concern and compassionate care of Mrs. Stutts.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully requests memorial donations be made to Springfield Cemetery Fund.
