Joyce Gayle Brown, age 80, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. She was born on August 3, 1945, to the late Glynn and Lillian Waldrop. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose caring heart touched the lives of many.
Joyce had a passion for gardening and found joy in growing both beautiful flowers and fresh vegetables. She also loved raising birds, cooking for those she loved, and spending time caring for others. Joyce was known as a caregiver to all and opened her heart and home as a foster parent and daycare provider throughout her life. Her kindness, compassion, and nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
She is survived by her daughters, Cindy (Arnold) Collett and Rachel (Tom) Marion; daughter in heart Phyllis Franks, grandchildren; Brett (Ashley) Meeks and Madison (Randy) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Ari, Rayden, Landon, Carver, and Wiley; brother, Randy (Donna) Waldrop; special nephews, Heath Waldrop and Eric Waldrop; niece, Holly Garrett; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Glynn and Lillian Waldrop; daughter, Teresa Peppers; and brother, Jerry Waldrop.
Funeral services will be held at Adams Brown Service on Monday, June 1, 2026. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and continue until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. with Charlie Rains and Brad McCamy officiating. Burial will follow at Marshall Memorial Gardens.
