Joyce Charlene Buckley – Obituary

Joyce Charlene Buckley, 82, of Madison, Alabama, went to her eternal home with Jesus Christ on August, 24, 2018 in Huntsville, Alabama.

Joyce was born to Louie and Eva Bingham on February, 18, 1936 in San Marcos, Texas where she graduated from San Marcos High School in 1951 and later attended Southwest Teacher’s College.

She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Herbert Buckley, two sons, John Buckley (Teresa) of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Richard Buckley (Amy) of Huntsville, Alabama, along with five grandchildren (Craig, Clarice, Faith, Grace, and Joi).

She was preceded in death by Velma Lee Higginbothem, (sister) and Melvin Bingham, (brother). Joyce was a homemaker who enjoyed being a wonderful wife, mom, and friend. She enjoyed cooking, collecting antique glass wear, swimming, and walking with neighborhood friends.

A grave side service is scheduled for Tuesday, August 28th at 4pm at the Madison Memory Gardens in Madison, Alabama with Richard Buckley officiating. The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.

John 11:25-26 describes Joyce’s gratefulness to her Savior Jesus Christ with whom she now eternally resides: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die…”
