Joyce Arlinda Mitchell was a woman of strength, faith, and unconditional love. She was a fighter, gracefully carrying life’s challenges with courage and dignity. Through every season, she remained anchored in love for her family and trust in God.

She was deeply loved and will be remembered for her kindness, her resilience, her wisdom, and the way she loved those around her. Her presence brought comfort, her words brought strength, and her life left a lasting impact on everyone blessed to know her.

She is now at peace, resting from labor and wrapped in eternal love.

Her legacy will live on through the family she loved, the lives she touched, and the memories we will cherish forever.

Joyce Arlinda Patton Mitchell was born Tupelo on March 7, l952. She realized the promises of her lifelong faith on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 when she made her greatest of all transformations-from her earthly pilgrimage to eternal life. Joyce died at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Joyce married Willie Ree Mitchell (Unk) on August 28, l982. She graduated from Pontotoc Attendance Center in l970 and attended and received her AA degree in Registered Nursing. She had a full, fruitful and satisfying nursing career with the VA Medical Center in Jackson. She was blessed with a wonderful family and countless friends in her 73 years. A full obituary will be published the first of the week.

A Celebration of Joyce’s life will take place at Noon Saturday, May 2, 2026 at Life Changing Ministries on South Thomas St. in Tupelo with Pastor Orlando Pannell officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 at the Church on Saturday only. Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo is honored to be assisting the Mitchell family.
