JoyceFuneral for Joyce Ann Simmons Amerson, 54, of East Lawrence will be Friday, August, 2, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Faith Tabernacle with Brother Anthony Simmons officiating and Parkway Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the church.

Joyce Ann Simmons Amerson left this walk of life to be with our Lord on Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born January 11, 1959, in Morgan County to Russell and Narsie Simmons. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, James Glenn Amerson Jr.; and one sister, Freda Gay Simmons.

Survivors include her husband of 38 years, James Glenn Amerson; one son, James Allen Amerson (Tonya) of Hatton; four daughters, Melissa McElroy (Jason), Angelia Amerson, Daisy Pruett and Patricia Bryant (Tim), all of East Lawrence; four brothers, Douglas Simmons (Faye) of Athens, Hubert Simmons (Cheryl) of Mount Hope, Herbert Simmons (Elizabeth) of East Lawrence, Travis Simmons (Teresa) of Danville; two sisters, Nita Parker (John) of East Lawrence, Shelia Terrell (Tab) of Danville; 12 grandchildren, Timothy Bryant, Christopher Bryant, Taylor Amerson, Glenn Bryant, David Pruett, Ally Amerson, Angeliah Bryant, Narsie Pruett, Casey Bryant, Sarah Bryant, Hunter McElroy, Faith McElroy; two stepgrandchildren, Lee McElroy and Steven McElroy; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
