Josh David Butcher, known to family and friends as David, passed away on January 31, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born on May 20, 1962, in Dearborn, Michigan, and moved to Guntersville, Alabama, as a child, where he spent the remainder of his life
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Douglas “JD” and Wilma Jane Butcher, and his son, Josh David Butcher II.
David proudly served in the United States Navy for two years before being honorably discharged. He worked for many years as a general manager in the restaurant industry, where he was known for his reliability, leadership, and ability to make coworkers feel like family. He had a natural sense of humor and a quick wit, and he loved to make people laugh. Above all else, David was a devoted husband, finding his greatest joy in the life he shared with his wife.
He is survived by his loving wife, Teresa Butcher; his daughter, Jessica; his stepchildren, Michael, Angel, and Toni; his sisters, Brenda and Deborah; his brother, John; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. David will be missed and fondly remembered for the joy, laughter, and warmth he brought to those around him.
Services for David will be held at a later date.
