Joseph Slater Ivey, 80, of Athens, passed away on Tuesday, July 6th, 2021, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. Mr. Ivey was born on May 1st, 1941, to Ernest Ivey and Lucy Lee Slater Ivey.
Mr. Ivey is survived by his daughters Kimberly Ivey and Michelle Ivey-Crouch; Granddaughters Mikayla Crouch and Kerry Crouch; and Grandson Colton Crouch.
Preceded in death by his parents and wife Brenda Kay Webb Ivey.
A private family graveside service will be held for Mr. Ivey.
Mr. Ivey was one of the founders of the Athens Limestone HAM Radio Club with the Athens Limestone EMA. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force. Donations may be made in remembrance of Mr. Ivey to The American Cancer Society or a favorite charity.
