Joseph Sidney Hall, 79, passed away on September 28, 2025, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo, MS. Born on December 6, 1945, to Monroe and Beatrice Hall in Pontotoc, MS, Joe spent several years in Philadelphia, PA, where he cherished his Potter County home. However, missing his southern roots, he returned to Mississippi a few years ago. A proud United States Army Veteran, Joe loved cooking and hosting meals for friends and family. He also enjoyed fishing, creating countless cherished memories with loved ones. He retired from the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority in Philadelphia, PA.
He is survived by his 3 sons Jason Hall (Cindy) Ambler, PA, Jimmy Hall (Gina) Philadelphia, PA, and Joe Hall (Betty Joe) Houlka, MS, 1 daughter Emily Starts Eric) Maple Shade, NJ, 6 grandchildren Halley Cullen (Herry), Gracie, Tyler, Jake, Madison, and Ava, 3 sisters, Robie Jackson (Larry), Mary Dye (Jimmy), and Jenny Anderson, 1 brother, David Hall (Jody).
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Earlene Greenwood.
Joe will be deeply missed, along with his warm smile. Another link in his family chain is gone, but he is now at peace in heaven, free from pain.
In accordance with Joe’s wishes, there will be no memorial service. His cremains will be sent to his son in Philadelphia, PA.
