Funeral service for Joseph Odean Long, age 71, of Decatur, will be Thursday, March 9, 2017, 2:00 p.m. at Westmeade Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Scotty Hogan officiating. The family will receive friends today, March 8, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shelton Funeral Home. Interment will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Long, who died Monday, March 6, 2017, at his residence, was born July 19, 1945, in Cullman County, to Oscar L. Long and Mary Holmes Long. He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his loving wife, Diane Baker Long of Decatur; one son, Barrett Long (LeAnn) of Muscle Shoals; one daughter, Labeth Bryant (Glenn) of Trinity; two brothers, Donnie Long of Eva, and Charles Long of Falkville; and four grandchildren, Anna Long, Livingston Long, Will Bryant, and Mary Beth Bryant.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
