Retired Captain Joseph Matthew Culbert, Jr., age 85 of Guntersville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2017.
Graveside funeral services with military honors will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 26, 2017 at Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Rev. Jackie Gaston officiating. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Carr Funeral Home.
Mr. Culbert is survived by his wife, Shirl Culbert; children: Jody Culbert and Carrie Culbert, and grandchildren: Dore Culbert, Vela Culbert, Alex Johnson
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Paralee and Joseph Matthew Culbert, Sr.; sisters, Mary Virginia Culbert Painter and Agnes Eileen Culbert Masters Krumpach; daughter, Andrea Camille Culbert Johnson; and grandson, Ellery Douglas Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial be made to Hospice of North Alabama, Grace Fellowship Presbyterian Church, or a charity of your choice.
