josephJoseph Johnson, 22, died Sunday, October 9, 2016, at the North MS Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1994, in Tupelo to Milton Johnson and Rebecca Smith. He attended Tupelo Public Schools up until his health failed. He was a member of Tupelo Church of God. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gaming. He was an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan. He loved his family dearly and taking care of his dogs, Boss and Pistol.
Services will be 1 PM Thursday, October 13, 2016, at Tupelo Church of God with Bro. Judd Vowell officiating. Burial will follow in Lee Memorial Park. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his mother, Becky Smith of Mooreville; his father, Milton Johnson of Memphis, TN.; his brother, Brandon Smith of Mooreville; his grandparents, Robert L. “Bob” and June Smith of Mooreville; a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his aunt, Sara Miller; his grandparents, Dannie and Eddie Johnson and his great-grandparents, John “J.E.” and Vivian “Nell” Henton.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Crump, Denver Crum, Bryson “Bubba” Spragin, Justin Schafer, Alex Parker, Tyfabian “Shawn” Osborne and Marquis “G” Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be John Caleb Smith, Tucker Holmes, Mason Smith, Rodney Parker and Darion “Snook” Edwards.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 12, 2016, from 4 – 8 and 11 – 1 Wednesday at Tupelo Church of God.
