Joseph “Joe” Jacks Moore passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 10, 2022, in Jackson, TN at the age of 78.
He was born in Tuscumbia, AL on August 15, 1943, to the late Matthew Lynch Moore and Mary George Price Moore. Joe married the love of his life, Jane Maclin, after meeting her at Florence State (now the University of North Alabama), where they both attended. Together, they moved to Jackson, TN and raised two beautiful daughters.
Joe was a longtime resident of Jackson and was a professor at Jackson State Community College for many years. He was an avid golfer and member of the Jackson National Golf Club. Joe will always be remembered for his light-heartedness, his great sense of humor, and being a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Jane Moore; two daughters, Meredith Macino (Al) of Medina, OH and Melinda McDowell (Jim) of Nashville, TN; and three grandchildren, Abigail Jernigan, Anna Macino, and Joseph McDowell.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
