Joseph Harold Pogue, 74, of Brownsboro, passed away Wednesday, April 29th.
Mr. Pogue was a graduate of Madison County High School, class of 1965 and an avid Alabama fan. He was also a United States Army Veteran. Joseph became a member of the Huntsville Moose Lodge in 1980. He was a banker for over 16 years with First National Bank. He was also employed with the space program for USBI from 1981 thru 1999; and with USA from 1999 thru 2010. Joseph lived in Titusville, Florida for over 32 years, where he was active in the #2073 Merritt Island Moose Lodge. He received the Pilgrim Degree of Merritt and he also received the highest degree – The Governor Award. Mr. Pogue served as the district president for two years, and as the governor for one year. He was the Moose Legion President of the Indian River Moose Legion 178 and he served as an international Moose Lodge Ambassador for two years. Joseph also served in several committees in the Florida Bermuda Moose Association.
He is survived by his sister, Mary Ann McGaha; brother, W.D. “Butch” Pogue and wife, Judy; two nephews; and two nieces.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 2nd from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Berryhill Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
