Mr. Joseph F.  Corbo SrMr. Joseph F. Corbo, Sr., age 96, of Scottsboro, passed away on Wednesday, May 1, 2019. Joseph was born March 19, 1923 to Philip and Theresa Corbo and was raised in Somerville, New Jersey. He proudly served our country in the Marines and is a WWII veteran. For over 30 years, he was employed by the Dept. of the Army, Civil Service, and engaged in the modernization of ammunition plants around the country. He was a much loved people person, lived life to the fullest, and had many loyal friends who loved him. He will be truly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Scottsboro Funeral Home with Rev. Brian Tanck and Rev. Micaiah Tanck officiating. Interment will be at Hampton Cove Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The family will receive friends on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. Corbo is survived by his wife, Laura Corbo; daughter, Corrine Pisano and husband Charles from North Plainfield, NJ; son, Joseph F. Corbo, Jr. and wife Philicia from Palm City, FL; grandchildren, Cheryl Scarpa, Jennifer Pisano, Sandy Catenaro, Michael Corbo, Marissa Corbo, and Kelly Stabile; great grandchildren, Justin Scarpa, Nicholas Scarpa, Michael Cantenaro, Aiden Stabile, Ryan Stabile, and Nicholas Pisano.
He was preceded in death by his grandson, Joseph Corbo; brother, Angelo Corbo; Sisters, Mary Auligino, Josephine Mauro, Anne Ricci, Dorothy Cima, Gertrude Bardwell, and Jeanette Bobrowski.
The family would like to thank all of the loving staff at Cloverdale Nursing Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or your favorite charity.
