Joseph Eugene Wallis of Selmer, TN was born April 25, 1965 in Selmer, the son of Mary Johnson Wallis and the late Melvin Wallis. He retired from Caterpilar, Inc. in Corinth, MS after 30 years of service.
Joseph was a 1983 graduate of McNairy Central High School. He was a family man. He loved all of his family very much and had a special love for his grandchildren. He enjoyed hot rod cars, was an avid hot rod collector, and had a passion for rebuilding motors which included his Monte Carlo and Camaro Z28. Joseph liked adventures and sometimes would just get in his truck to go riding and looking. He departed this life on December 30, 2018 in Corinth, MS at the age of 53 Years, 8 Months, 5 Days.
He is survived by a daughter, Heather Wallis Cummings and husband Daniel of Iuka, MS; a son, Joe Christopher Wallis and wife Amanda of Selmer, TN; his mother, Mary Johnson Wallis; eight grandchildren, McKenleigh Wolford, Baileigh Kendall, Bristol Cummings, Chaseton Cummings, Savannah Barnes, Tyler Wallis, Bella Wallis, Aubree Wallis; three brothers, Tim Wallis and wife Michelle of Adamsville, TN, Jeff Wallis and late wife Michelle of Southaven, MS, Jason Wallis and wife Alisha of Bethel Springs, TN; his special companion, Christy Rolison, and a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his father, Joseph was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Wallis, and stepfather, Melburn Wilson.
