Joseph Daniel Servick – Obituary

Joseph Daniel Servick, 71, of Huntsville, passed away Monday. He was preceded in death by his parents, Olav Daniel Servick and Alice Hale King. He graduated from General Motors Institute of Flint, MI, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity, and received his MBA in Business Administration from UAH. He was employed for 36 years by Parker Hannifin. Mr. Servick was a liver transplant recipient of 19 ½ years. He was an avid sports fan and accomplished hockey player. He was loved by many.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, and high school sweetheart, Judy Balinskas Servick; sons, Daniel Joseph Servick and wife, Angie, and David Joseph Servick; grandsons, Samuel Patrick Servick and Jack Joseph Servick; sister, Sandra Hayes and husband, Bruce; brother in heart, Dana Dennis and wife, Sherry; and loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Thursday, November 15 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sherrill Clontz officiating.  Mr. Servick will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland Clinic Foundation, 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44115 for the transplant program.
