Mr. Jorge Reyes, age 62, a resident of Columbia, passed away Wednesday morning, February 20, 2019 at Alive Hospice in Nashville.
A funeral service will be held on Sunday at 2PM at Una Esperanza Viva with Lesbia Martinez officiating. Burial will follow in Maury Memorial Gardens. A visitation will also be held on Sunday from 12-2PM at the church. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 4, 1956 in El Paso, Texas, Jorge was the son of the late Jose Francisco Reyes and the late Maluisa Castro. He worked as a professional carpenter for over fifty years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, camping, and going to the lake. He was an excellent cook who also loved grilling. Jorge was very strong in his faith and was a member of Una Esperanza Viva.
He is survived by his son: Austin Mings of Lyles; daughter: Jessica Mings of Centerville; brothers: Jose Francisco Reyes, Jr., Everardo Reyes, Osbaldo Reyes; sisters: Virginia Reyes, Magdalena Miller, Gloria Ramirez, Hilda Mauldin, Angelica Sanchez; grandchild: Harley Gray; and special nephews: Tony and Brian Miller.
