Jonathan Maurice Dugas, age 38 of Winchester, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. A native of Franklin County, he was born on December 2, 1981 in Winchester to Roger and Rhonda Gipson Dugas. He was a graduate of Franklin County High School class of 2000, and received a Masters at Tennessee Tech in 2017. Jonathan served his country in the United States Army and was currently employed at Jacobs Engineering. An accomplished mathematician, he was a published author in professional journals. An avid outdoorsman, Jonathan enjoyed fishing, hiking, and kayaking, but most of all he loved spending time with his niece and nephew. He was a very spiritual and Christian person with a “heart of gold”…he loved everyone he met. Jonathan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eddy and Rollande Dugas and Claude and Helen Gipson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Tiffany Dugas of Chattanooga; niece, Gracie Martin of Chattanooga; nephew, Atticus Martin of Chattanooga; uncles, Troy Gipson, Paul (Ceney) Dugas, and Marc (Helga) Dugas; aunts, Janice (Joe) Brodioi, and Rosemarie (Don) Dugas; and several cousins. Visitation will be from 12-3 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 3:00pm in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Ed Boggess officiating.
