Jonathan “Jonny” Stuart Davis, 58, of Tupelo, passed away January 3, 2023 at his home. Born

December 20, 1964 to Elizabeth “Libby” Davis and the late Bobby Roy Davis, Jonny lived a life of service to his family and community. After attending Itawamba Community College and The University of Mississippi, Jonny made his name a well-known one in Tupelo, being a top performer at Willis

Brothers and Tupelo Auto Sales, owning and operating Mid-South Title Cash, serving as president of both the Association for Educational Excellence and Lawhon Parent Teacher Organization in the Tupelo

Public School District, teaching Sunday school at First United Methodist Church, regularly donating blood, and serving on the City Council, representing Tupelo’s Ward 5. Jonny was awarded “The Jack Reed Sr. Advocate for Education Award” for his tireless dedication to the Association for Excellence in Education and Tupelo Public School District.

Jonny was a man of many talents, and wielded them skillfully in aid of those lucky enough to have met him. He always considered his talents best utilized in his championing of the Tupelo Aquatic Center in East Tupelo, but for those closest to him, his truly greatest accomplishment was his generosity in time, love, and commitment, and unyielding devotion to his family, which was the light of his life. Beyond his love for family and community, Jonny was an avid Ole Miss fan, being a regular commenter on the Ole Miss blog and attending countless football games with his friends and family, with whom he gleefully snuck several times onto Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

A service celebrating his life will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, Jan. 7, 2022 in the Sadie Holland Memorial Chapel at Holland Funeral Directors-Tupelo with Dr. Joe Edd Morris officiating. Family members will share reflections. Visitation will be held Saturday only one hour prior to the service. Honorary pallbearers are Carey Richey, Chic Riley, Gene McDade, Jamey Beard, Kerry Barnes, and Willie Jennings
