Jon Neville Mattox, a devoted husband, loving father, faithful church member, skilled machinist, and passionate hunter, passed away on August 7th, at the age of 86.  He was born on July 26, 1939 in Mississippi.

Jon found his beloved partner in Carolyne Mattox and together they shared fifty cherished years of marriage, building a strong family and a home filled with love and laughter. He was a dedicated father to Jonathan, always supporting and encouraging them in their endeavors.

A man of unwavering faith, Jon was a committed member of Mayfair Church of Christ where he actively participated in church activities.  His faith was a guiding force in his life.

In his professional life, Jon was a talented machinist. He was known for his precision, expertise, and dedication to his craft, earning the respect of his colleagues.

Beyond his work and family life, Jon found immense joy and solace in the outdoors, particularly through hunting. He appreciated the beauty of nature and the tranquility of the wilderness. Hunting for Jon was more than just a pastime; it was an opportunity to connect with the natural world and share memorable moments with friends and loved ones.

Jon will be deeply missed by his wife, Carolyne; his son, Jonathan, and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Monday, August 11th from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Mayfair Church of Christ, followed by funeral service at noon. Private interment will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
