Jolly Gene Hill Pryor died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at the age of 91 at her residence. She was born August 7, 1923 in Charleston, Mississippi. Mrs. Pryor was a graduate of David Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and Harding University of Searcy, Arkansas with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She worked and retired from the University of Tennessee Extension Service. Mrs. Pryor was a member of East Colbert Church of Christ.
Mrs. Pryor is survived by sister-in-law Reba Hill; nephew Tim Hill; niece Dee Hill Wear; great-nephews Ross Hill and Caleb Beck; great-nieces Shelley Hill Barnes and Amber Hill Blanchard; great-great niece Nevaeh Barnes; and great-great nephew Maddox Barnes. She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Grayden Pryor, who was a Captain in World War II and a graduate of the University of Tennessee; father Albert R. Hill, Sr. and mother Ferrell Kirby Hill of Florence, AL; and brothers Albert R. Hill, Jr. of Muscle Shoals and Billy Hill of Moulton, AL.
Visitation for Mrs. Pryor will be Sunday, February 1, 2015 from 12:00-2:00 P.M. at High’s Funeral Home in McMinnville, TN. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to East Colbert Church of Christ Haiti Missions at 5075 River Road, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661.
