Johnny Word was born on May 18, 1964 in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of Molly Bevis Word and the late Rayford Word.
On December 27, 1987, he was united in marriage to Connie Williams, who survives.
Johnny worked as a lineman for Irby Construction. He found his greatest joy in the simple, meaningful moments of life, especially those spent with his family. He loved nothing more than watching his grandchildren take part in their extracurricular activities, cheering them on with pride and a warm smile. Whether it was a game, a performance, or a practice, he was always there, quietly supporting and celebrating their efforts. An avid outdoorsman, he had a deep appreciation for nature and all it had to offer. He cherished time spent fishing and hunting, finding peace and fulfillment in the outdoors. From early mornings by the water to long days in the woods, these moments brought him a sense of calm and happiness that he carried with him always.
