Johnny Wesley Coppett, 88, of Owens Cross Roads, passed away Saturday, April 23, 2022.
Mr. Coppett was born in Piedmont, AL and was a US Army veteran. He moved to Huntsville in 1972, served as an Alabama State Trooper where he become a Lieutenant and later managed a flight school in Gadsden being an instructor and flying for the State Troopers. Mr. Coppett also enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janet Gatlin Coppett; two daughters, Cassandra Johnson (Zackary) and Christa Conwell; son, Johnny Coppett (Pam); six grandchildren: Zach Lauren Phillips, Christine Phillips, John D. Coppett, Matthew Coppett, Julia Conwell and Josie Conwell; three great-grandchildren: Carson Reed, Cole Phillips and Sam Phillips; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 27, 2022 from 12:00 – 2:00 with service to follow at 2:00 P.M. at Berryhill Funeral Home. Burial will be at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore.
