Johnny Ray Embrey, 64, died Thursday, February 14, 2019 at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born February 11, 1955 in Itawamba County, MS. He was a factory worker and attended Antioch Baptist Church, Golden, MS.
Services will be Saturday, February 16, 3:30 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, Golden, MS with Bro. Dean Warren officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery, Golden, MS. Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are two daughters – Summer Tanner (Daniel) and Chasidy Embrey (Jarrett Riddle), all of Golden, MS; five grandchildren – Davin Tanner, Lenzie Tanner, Pearson Tanner, Teller Embrey and Katley Riddle; eight sisters – Mary Adair, Julie Bridges, Charlene Grimes, Joyce Creel, Louise Daniel, Velma Vess, Bobbie Embrey and Nola Underwood; four brothers – Archie Embrey, Tom Embrey, Dale Embrey and Paul Embrey and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Kathy Crane Embrey, his parents, M.T. Embrey and Birdie Hudson Embrey, mother-in-law, Louise Crane and father-in-law, Glenn Crane.
Pallbearers will be Dale Embrey, Jesse Embrey, Brandon Embrey, Daniel Humphries, David Leathers and Landon Fell. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Presley, Dale Gravitt, Leonard Prine, Justin Gravitt, Trent Gravitt, George Embrey, Jesse Vess and Gage Creel.
Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Friday, February 15, at Antioch Baptist Church, Golden, MS and continue until service time on Saturday.
