Johnny Ray Denney – Obituary

The funeral service for Johnny Ray Denney, age 59 of Saks, will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Benefield Funeral Home in Ashland with Rev. Steve McGinnes officiating. Burial will follow in the Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Mr. Denney passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center in Anniston. Johnny was a native of Clay County and a graduate of Bibb Graves High School. He moved to Saks in 1992 and was a Master Technician at Benton Nissan for over 30 years. Johnny loved to deer hunt and was a member of the Redfield Hunting Club. He loved his family, friends and his German Shepherd, “Bear”.

 

Mr. Denney is survived by his wife of 27 years, Angela Denney of Saks; one daughter, Tiffany Denney of Saks; three sons: Chris Denney of Saks, Nick Denney (Candace) of Oxford and Ryan Denney of Saks (Fiancé Kenzie Piper of Pell City); two brothers: Tony Denney of Delta and Terry Denney of Wedowee and 7 grandchildren: Jeromy Sharpe, Hailey Sharpe, Callie Denney, Ashton Denney, Chloie Denney, Jaylon Bruce and Layla Denney.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents: Heflin Denney and Marie Harkins Denney.

 

Pallbearers will be Tony Denney, Terry Denney, Wayne Taylor, Mike Helms, Brian Sims, Brandon Sims, Tony Bell, Johnny Goss, Neal Mayben and Brian Denney.
