Full of life, that may best describe Johnny Dyess III of Jackson who died today, November 12, 2025 at his residence. Johnny the son of the late John Dyess Jr and Virginia Ann Wilbourn Dyess was born on a Monday, October the 6th of 1958 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
John Gandy Dyess III enjoyed life and all the experiences that came with it. As a youngster racing dirt bikes, and motorcycles in general as he grew older, to all the fun he had at the river with his friends boating, tubing and water skiing. Johnny was a devout Christian, very spiritual and a hard worker. He and his family are Ole Miss Rebel fans and attended many games. On Sundays, you could find him watching Nascar and pulling for Jeff Gordon and later Dale Earnhardt in their years of racing. Family was special to Johnny especially his three grandchildren.
Survivors include his two daughters: Brittney (Michael) Mills and Samantha Dyess; a sister, Kim Dyess and a brother, Bubba Dyess; grandchildren Braxton and Mason Pruden and Ethan Mills and his step-father, Billy Moorhead. Johnny was preceded in death by former wives’: Cheryl Pisz Dyess and Angela Goff Dyess and a sister, Tabitha Dyess.
