A Visitation service only, for Johnny “Butch” Harris, Sr. , 69, will be Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Harris passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2026 at his residence. He was born April 5, 1956, in Morgan County, to Charlie Edward Harris and Shirley Faye May Harris.
He was employed by the Decatur City School Sytem, as a School Bus Driver, prior to his passing. He enjoyed his job and his co-workers at the School Bus Shop. He loved being with his family, Alabama Football, wrestling and enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels Cars.
Preceding him in death were his father- Charlie Edward Harris, and grandparents – William D. May, Susie Porter May, Charlie B. Harris, and Atron Mears Harris.
Survivors include-
Wife – Amanda Lynn Harris,
Mother – Shirley Faye May Harris,
Sons- Johnny “Rusty” Harris (Kendra) and
Joel Harris (Casey),
Daughters – Miranda Harris and
Britney Harris,
Brother – Dewayne May (Janis),
Sisters – Penny Shirah (Lonnie) and
Sister – Debbie Trouller
Three Grandchildren – Summer Harris, Winter Harris, and Braiden Harris.
