Johnny Baswell Profile PhotoA Celebration of Life Service for Johnny Baswell, 77 of Glen, MS, will be Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home East Chapel with Military Honors. Interment will be at Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackie Baswell and Larry Gann will officiate the service. Visitation will be Saturday, January 13, 2024 from 5:00 P M to 8:00 P M and Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 12:00 P M until 2:00 P M at Magnolia Funeral Home – East.  Mr. Baswell passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Methodist University Hospital in Memphis, TN.  He was born May 7, 1946 to Johnnie Hershel Baswell and Ida Evelyn Smith Baswell.  He was a Millwright worker and a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.  He enjoyed spending time with his family, coaching all his daughters Little League sports, fishing and enjoyed eating and cruising.  He was a Boy Scout leader, a mechanic and loved playing with his grandchildren.  Johnny was patient and kind and was always giving to others.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Julie Ann Wiginton Baswell; his son, Johnathan E. Baswell; his daughters, Angela Helms, Tina Baswell, Dana Bailey (Neal) and Bobbie Joe Baswell; 7 grandchildren, Scarlet Marcinek (Zack), Victor Mincy, Steelie Parker (Kade), Lillie Ann Bailey, Samantha Newcomb, Dylan Baswell and Emily Evelyn Baswell; 5 great grandchildren, Ava Klaire, Ander, Grayson, Bennett Blu and Vincent Haze; his brothers, Hubert Baswell and Jackie Baswell (Kay); his sister-in-law, Lynn Baswell; numerous nieces, nephews, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  He was preceded in death by his father, Hershel Baswell; his mother, Evelyn Smith Baswell; his brothers, Bobby Joe Baswell and Billy Ray Baswell and his parents-in-law, George Clifford Wiginton and Grace Wiginton Langley.  Pallbearers will be Donnie Bailey, Dylan Baswell, Larry Gann, Ken Barnett, Kevin Roberts, Johnathan Gann and Victor Baswell.  Magnolia Funeral Home has been honored to serve the family of Mr. Johnny Baswell.
