Johnnie Ruth Heflin, age 84 of Athens, Alabama passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at Athens Limestone Hospital. Ms. Heflin was born on December 15, 1932 in Loretto, Tennessee to Johnny and Lonnie Sandy.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Kay Smith.
Ms. Heflin is survived by three sons, Michael Heflin of Charlotte, NC, Johnny Heflin (Maria) of Athens, AL, and Barry Heflin (Vickie) of Madison, AL; five grandchildren, Tyrone Whitehead, Tanner Heflin, Kayla Cochran (Patrick), Jonathan Heflin, and Peyton Heflin; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Sue Johnson of Decatur, AL and Barbara Flatt (Fred) of Loretto, TN.
Ms. Heflin attended Lindsay Lane Baptist Church.
Services will be Friday, February 10, 2017 at 11:00 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Bro. Eddie Gooch officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 9, 2017 from 6:00-8:00PM at the funeral home. Graveside service will take place at 2:00PM on Friday in Loretto Cemetery (Loretto, TN)
Pallbearers are Michael Heflin, Johnny Heflin, Barry Heflin, Jonathan Heflin, Tanner Heflin and Patrick Cochran.
