Johnnie Lee Baldwin, 77, of Fort Payne, passed away Tuesday, May 20, 2025. He was born August 29, 1947 in Rome, Georgia, to the late Harry Willard Baldwin and Dona Butler Baldwin. Johnnie was a draftsman for Vulcraft and retired after 53 years of service. He was a member of Second Baptist Church where he loved the Lord and faithfully served as deacon for many years. He was known for his quiet, but steady leadership. He loved to hunt and fish and was an avid Alabama fan. He was a survivor, battling cancer and multiple health issues through the years, but never giving up.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday, May 24th at Wilson Funeral Home with Dr. John Screws and Rev. Karl Abernathy officiating. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 2 p.m. until the 4 p.m. hour of service.
Pallbearers will be Randy Justice, Todd Simpson, Mike Early, Robert Brandon, Mike Rogers, and Sammy Abernathy; and honorary pallbearers are his Vulcraft family.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia McCurdy Baldwin; daughters Angela Bates (John) and Crystal Baldwin (Wade Gorham); brothers and sisters-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jimmie Baldwin and an infant brother.
