Johnna Belle Dunlap, age 95, died on May 24, 2026. She was born on June 16, 1930 in Huntsville, Alabama to parents John Dot and Willie Belle (Skinner) Acuff.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Dunlap; her son, William T. Dunlap; her parents; and her sister, Alice Jane (Tony) Wilmer.
She is survived by her children, John Dunlap (Beverly Smith), Laura Ballard (Richard) and David Dunlap (Beth); her grandchildren, Will Dunlap, Clay Dunlap, Daniel Dunlap, Lee Dunlap, Blue Ballard, Kaitlyn Elledge, and Crawford Dunlap; and great-grandchildren, Austin Dunlap, Caleb Dunlap, Laurel Dunlap, Maggie Dunlap and William Hollis Elledge.
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She attended Auburn University where she met and married the love of her life. She dedicated her life to her family, whom she loved unconditionally. She was always a patient, kind and loving person to those who shared her life. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Huntsville and a member of numerous Garden Clubs in Huntsville and later Tuscaloosa Alabama. She and her husband enjoyed traveling and camping throughout the United States and Canada.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all her care givers, especially those from Home Instead, for the love and kindness they showed her.
There will be a private family service.
