John Windell Embry, age 70 of Huntsville passed away March 10, 2019.
He is survived by his daughter Gina Malone (Darren); sister Frances Lynch; three grandchildren Christina Kennedy (Matt), J.D. Malone (Haley), and Adena Malone; three great-grandchildren Ethan Kennedy, Emery Kennedy, and Lawson Malone; and one nephew Johnny Phillips (Joanice).
Mr. Embry was preceded in death by his grandson Shane Malone, three brothers Clinton Embry, James Embry, and Hoyt Embry, two sisters Louise Phillips and Viola Draper.
He was a native of Marshall County and a resident of Grant for the past 2 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ, a veteran of the U.S. Army, and a member of the American Legion.
A memorial graveside service is Saturday, March 16, 2019, at 1:00 p.m. at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wounded Warrior Project or any veteran’s charity.
