John White, Jr., age 71 of Phil Campbell, passed away at home resting in his recliner on Friday, March 24, 2023.
John was born on December 24, 1951, in Indiana to John (Sr.) & Geneva White. He later lived in Florida and Georgia, before moving to Phil Campbell, AL in 1995 to make that his home. He was the owner and operator of John’s Fiberglass Body & Boat Repair in Phil Campbell. He was a member of Phil Campbell Church of Christ. He was an avid pocketknife collector and vintage trucks. He loved restoring his 1952 Chevy Pickup and had worked on it over 20 years bringing it from the salvage yard to the showroom. He was a friend to all and will be missed by all who knew him.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 32 years, Alice June White; stepson, Dan Cochran (Claudia Ortega); 2 grandchildren; siblings, Bill White, Anne Gardner, Betty Schallenkamp, Brenda Parker, and Jane Trosken and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stacy; and parents, John (Sr.) & Geneva (Russell) White.
The visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Bill Woodall speaking at the service. Burial will be at Colbert Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be Dan Cochran and Clifford Farra.
