John Wesley Bevil,Sr. 67, of Hazel Green,AL died Saturday, January 4, 2020 at his home. He lived all his life in North Alabama, and was a member of Murphy Hill Baptist Church, Toney, AL.
Born Tuesday, November 4, 1952 in Athens, AL, he was the son of Buford Granville Bevil and Clara McWhirter Bevil .He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Betty Gilliam; brother, Wayne Bevil; and one niece.
John is survived by his wife, Carolyn Bevil, Hazel Green, AL; son, John Wesley Bevil, Jr., Hazel Green, AL; daughter, Jessica (John) Walker, Hazel Green, AL; brothers, Charles (Delores) Bevil, Ardmore, AL, and Larry (Mary Jane) Bevil, Toney, AL; sister, Shirley Disney, Elkmont, AL; and seven grandchildren,Damyn Bevil, Victoria Bevil, Isabella Bevil, Jenavieve Bevil, Courtney Walker, Carley Walker,and William Walker.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM. The Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00PM all at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home, Ardmore, AL, with Bro. Mke McFarlen officiating. Burial will be in Copeland Cemetery, Athens, AL.
