John Walker Steward, lovingly known as J.W., Hobo, Nannanny, and Boynanny, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, September 13, 2023, at his residence in Santa Fe, Tennessee just three days shy of his 81st birthday.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Heritage Funeral Home, with Jason Beard officiating. Following the service, he will be laid to rest in Santa Fe Cemetery. A visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
A native of Maury County, J.W. was born on September 16, 1942, and was the beloved son of the late John Will Steward and the late Estelle Kelly Steward. On March 19, 1965, he married Almajean Cothran, and together they shared over fifty-eight years of cherished memories. He was employed many years as a construction worker and carpenter. J.W. led a simple life, exactly the way he wanted. He found joy in the little things, like exploring trade days, riding the back roads of Santa Fe, and carving wood in his backyard. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with friends and family.
