John Vernon Campbell – Obituary

John Vernon Campbell, 80-years-old, passed from this life Monday, Aug. 28, 2017, at Lawrence Medical Center.

Visitation will be Thursday, Aug. 31, 2017, from noon to 2 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with the funeral service following at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Roger Houston and John Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery.

Mr. Campbell retired from Labor Local 366 as business manager and was a member of Providence Baptist Church, the Hatton Masonic Lodge, the Shriners, and the Alabama National Guard. He loved antiquing and was a big Alabama fan. John never met a stranger.

Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his parents, John Luther Campbell and Zora Elma Lansdell Campbell; one brother, Carl Campbell; and five sisters, Clara Parker, Glenn Campbell, Mable Patterson, Ruby Campbell, Ruth Ault, and Thelma Ilene Campbell.

He is survived by his wife, Joyce L. Campbell; two daughters, Beverly Campbell and Donna Sprinkle and her husband, Steve; one brother, Ray Campbell; two sisters, Joyce Moore and her husband, Gary, and Marcilla Weems and her husband, Donald; two grandsons, Josh Sprinkle and his wife, Cheyenne, and Jordan Sprinkle and his wife, Megan; and two great-grandchildren, Aiden Sprinkle and Wednesday Summer Sprinkle.

Pallbearers will be: Steve Sprinkle, Josh Sprinkle, Jordan Sprinkle, Jimmy Alexander, Chris Alexander, Stacy Alexander, Jerry Latham, Ashley Alexander, and Roger Parker.
