John Thomas Raines passed away on Thursday January 12th at the age of 81. Tom was born in Walker County on July 26, 1935.
Tom Raines was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He was preceded in death by the love of his life Eva Jo Clark Raines, his father Thomas Earl Raines, his mother Ina Brown Raines and his brother Ralph Raines.
Tom is survived by his 3 sons John Raines Jr (Teresa) David Raines (Cindy) and Randy Raines (Kathy) His brother Bob Raines (Helen) 7 grand children Thomas Raines III, Jason Salter(Tori) Cady Raines, Blake Raines, Summer Raines, Cody Spivey and Trent Spivey, 2 great grand children Landin Salter and Corbin Salter and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held Sunday January 15, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Tom Salter will officiate. Burial will follow at McCormack Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm Sunday.
