John T. “Jack” Gauldin, Jr., age 89 of Mentone, passed away on Monday, June 9, 2025 at his residence. He was born on August 9, 1935 in Calhoun County, Alabama to the late John T., Sr. & Ollie Wilson Gauldin. He graduated from Oxford High School where he was an All-American in football. He went on to play one year at the University of Alabama before transferring to Jacksonville State University. He joined the United States Air Force where he served during the Korean War. He retired from administration with the Boy Scouts of America and was a member of Cloudland Presbyterian Church.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
He is survived by his wife, Elaine Howard Gauldin; sons, Tim Gauldin and Tom Gauldin; half-brother, Wayne King; half-sister, Rose Mary Phillips; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
