John Shelton Rogers, Jr., 34 of Tanner, passed away on Wednesday, December 1st, 2021, at his residence, after an eight year battle with cancer. Mr. Rogers was born on December 31st, 1986, to John Shelton Rogers, Sr. and Darlene Turner Rogers.
Mr. Rogers is survived by his wife Haley Rogers; son John “Tripp” Shelton Rogers, III; sister Morgan Rogers Mabalot (Rebecca); parents John and Darlene Rogers; grandmother Sharon Warbington.
Shelton graduated from Athens High School in 2005. He continued his education at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, earning his bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems. Shelton was an avid sports fan and a faithful follower of the Alabama Crimson Tide. His greatest pride and joy was watching his son grow and develop his same love of sports.
Funeral services for Mr. Rogers will be Sunday, December 5th, 2021, at 2:00pm at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Pastor Roger Reed officiating. Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00-1:45pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
