John Robert Fielding, Jr. age 86 of Athens, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Athens-Limestone Hospital. Mr. Fielding was born April 6, 1927 in Limestone County to John Robert Fielding, Sr. and Eula Rogers Fielding.
Services for Mr. Fielding are Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 11:00 until 1:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fielding Cemetery with Mark Johnson and Jordan Lovell officiating.
He was a member of Salem Church of Christ and the V.F.W. He is the former owner of Fielding Harley-Davidson. He is a veteran of WWII where he served on the USS Cotten.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Doris Jean Fielding; son, Bruce Fielding; grandson, Brandon Fielding and wife Lisa; great-grandchildren, Lydia and Lily Fielding; sister-in-law, Elmarie White.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Eula Fielding; sisters, Eula Lee Clark and Pauline Lovell; son, Billy Fielding.
Pallbearers are William Lovell, Steven Lovell, Tim Clark, Glenn King, Marty Wilson and Larry Tarpley.
