John Robert Canup, 94 of Huntsville, Alabama died on Sunday, March 23, 2014, at Regency Health Care in Huntsville, Alabama.
Born Thursday, December 25, 1919, he was the son of the late Jim William Canup and the late Clara Faulkner Canup. He was a member of University Baptist Church. He loved to rabbit hunt with his beagles; Dog Day in Ardmore, where he enjoyed buying and trading knives and dogs. He loved working with cars and was a good woodworker. He loved gardening and sharing his fruits of his labor with others. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Irene Faulkinberry Canup, and a brother: David Canup.
He is survived by a sister: Jean Dickey of Louisville, KY, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.
There will be visitation Tuesday, March 25, 2014,from 3:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Ardmore Chapel Funeral Home.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Gatlin Cemetery in Ardmore, AL with Bro. Eddie Hilderbrand officiating
