John Raymond Alonzo, age 78, of Muscle Shoals, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
A private memorial service will be held today.
Mr. Alonzo was a native of Rochester, N.Y. and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo Alonzo and Blanche Drayne Payne; and his daughter, Ann Horscroft.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Alonzo, of Muscle Shoals; sons, Tom Flynn, of Valencia, Calif., John Richard Alonzo, of Bend, Oregon, and Johnny Alonzo, of Callahan, Fla.; daughters, Noelle Smith, of Muscle Shoals, Cindy Flynn, of Los Angeles, Calif., Deborah Smith, of Callahan, Fla., and Carol Mackenzie, of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Barbara Shepherd, of N.Y., Loretta Smith. of Callahan, Fla., and Dolores Braddock, of Jacksonville, Fla.; and nine grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brick Hatton Volunteer Fire Department.
