Mr. John Patrick Coyman, 73, passed away on October 13, 2026 after a brief battle with MDS. Born on November 11, 1952, in Boston, MA, he was the only beloved son of Margaret (Madge) Catherine Stanton and John Lambert Coyman.
Born in Boston, John spent much of his time in Jamaica Plain with many beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. A lifetime Boston sports fan, he played for Boston College during his undergraduate years and continued to follow all Boston teams throughout his life, especially the New England Patriots.
John played a “tough guy,” as a bouncer in 1975 which led him to meet his former wife, Thilda (Vieira). They married in 1976, settled in East Brunswick, NJ, and had three beautiful children. Though they parted ways after 16 years of marriage, they co-parented and remained friends. John went on to owning his own businesses in industrial supply where he was known for his unwavering hard work ethic, care for others and making the occasional joke.
Outside of work, John found great joy in his two Belgian sheepdogs, Ava and Jax. He also took extreme pride in his two grandchildren, Brayden and Adalynn. He enjoyed watching them grow, play sports, cheer, dance and visited often to see them. Being their grandfather was one of the great joys in his life.
Above all, John loved his family, especially his children. Nothing gave him true happiness than seeing his children and grandchildren together, celebrating a holiday or birthday, watching a game on TV, talking sports, or going on a random Target run if it meant he would be with them.
John is survived by his two daughters, Nadia and Tiffany (Rob), son, Eric (Sasha), grandchildren Brayden and Adalynn, “fur” grandchildren Cadance, Louis, Rex and Wilma, and many extended family members and friends.
Cremation will be held in private and a celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.
